About

The story behind the sound.

It begins…

The ultimate euphoric break up pop song, "The One That Got Away" explores the "it's not me, it's you" perspective after a break up.

“I wrote this song about being confident that I was giving everything to a relationship that I might as well have been in alone. I had this vision of the person I was with living a regretful life twenty years later and me thriving - it made me feel empowered and like I truly was the one that got away.”

Perfect for blasting in the car while driving away from your past and towards bigger and better, 'TOTGA' (produced by Melbourne production duo BANTA) is filled with exhilarating synth lifts in the chorus and bridge that mimic the ecstatic and empowering feeling of finally recognising your worth.

One of the most respected voices in her field, Abbey Stone is a Melbourne based pop artist/songwriter.

Having written with notable Australian writers such as James Roche and Jake Mason, as well as performing alongside iconic live acts (John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, Marcia Hines, Andy Grammar, Richard Marx), Abbey has positioned herself as a highly professional and polished songwriter and performer. After numerous stints in the USA and the release of her third EP "BADLADY", Abbey is excited to be working on her fourth EP release, the sister record to "BADLADY", "Good Woman".

With a focus on euphoric pop melodies, paired with honest and relatable lyrics, Good Woman promises to be Abbey's strongest record yet!”

Artistic expression.

“There’s something undeniably captivating about the music of Abbey Stone.”
– Happy Mag

Abbey has gone from strength to strength with three EPs under her belt including Doorways (2014), Complete (2017) and the latest, Badlady (2020). Talking about the BADLADY EP, she says that BADLADY “…sparked the idea that I couldn’t give from an empty cup. I had to reset and find a way to go about my daily life in the most empowered way possible; first and foremost for myself, and in turn, for those around me.
